Default Mustang Dynamometer Results

Can someone familiar with dynos please explain these results to me and what may have affected this pull.

1st Pull: 195.27 HP
280.04 TQ

2nd Pull: 200.4 HP
286.67 TQ

I am new to dynos, however, I know this can't be right. Any help ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What affected the pulls? The fact that it was a mustang dyno, that's all. Go get it done on a dynojet and you'll see completely different results.

Does that mean that Mustang Dynos are not the preferred dyno?

Is it me, or are the TQ numbers all out of whack?

They're fine dyno's, just give some really wacky results. Supposedly they're more accurate from run to run on the same car and the same dyno than others, but we've seen 300HP dyno's from a Mustang on a normally aspirated car. While we saw close to the same numbers with a 350z that had the Vortech SC installed. Two different dyno's though.

Everything is all out of whack. Your numbers should be around 230HP, unless you're dynoing the car on top of Mt Everest.

I got the z dyno'd last week on a mustang. I got 218 hp, and something like 340 foot pounds... Yea, weird results.

Sounds like the gearing was entered incorrectly into the dyno. Just a guess

Default Mustang Dyno

If the Mustang is calibrated correctly, multiply your RWHP #'s by 1.15 and that should equal a dynojet! I definitely prefer the Mustang because you can do your pulls in other gears besides 5th!

So your saying that if he were to use a dynojet he is going to be making almost 329 HP to the wheels? I can see why you would prefer the dynojet, not only do you have numbers that are completely off, you have printouts for bragging rights. It seems that in every post that I can recall seeing the Mustang is usually *way* off. As in "I got 218 hp, and something like 340 foot pounds" off.

I think a major contributing factor is the fact that the individuals operating the machine did not sound too sure about anything they said!

Where in hell did you get 329 ? I said multiply the Mustang #, ie. 218, by 1.15, and you get 250.7!! I agree on your statement concerning the wacky torque # and a few others who have outrageous high #'s on a Mustang. I can't explain it. This is just my experience locally because I've used them both and 1.15 has always been proven correct. The main reason I prefer the Mustang is not having to go 150 in fifth under N20!!

If it applies to the 218 pull on a Mustang, wouldn't that also apply to the Mustang dyno in the original post? 286 x 1.15 = 328.9. If I am missing something here please set me straight.

I see where you got that number now!! I've had a long day (excuse) especially since I just got off the phone with TS & they want another $150 to add fuel to my ECU!! Back to the topic! The 286 on the original post was the" wacky " torque number. That is definitely off compared to his HP #. Mike
