Default Oil Cooler infront of FMIC?

Does anyone think I can get away with mounting my oil cooler in front of my FMIC with a set of ties that are normally used for mounting fans to rads?

Would the weight of the full oil cooler be too much? Will it bend fins? Take abuse from racing? Im running the GTM kit with 19 Row Setrab.

Im looking to get it out of my passenger side wheel well to make room for brake ducting.

Thoughts?

I would keep it where it is , you don't want to stack things for track use. Post a pic of the whole front end, it looks like you could run ducts from the "normal " location still.

Yeah now that I threw the idea around, i think its just asking for trouble.

I still have my OEM bumper which Im willing to cut up.

Thought I had better pictures, apparently not...

The driver side has nothing in it, so its not that much of an issue.

have you tried leaning your FMIC forward (unbolt the top screw to try) and fitting it where the reservoir is. and then moving that reservoir?

That's actually where I wanted to put it but couldn't fit it behind the FMIC. But I don't think I considered leaning it, or tried. Good idea.

http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pro...p?Product=3628 look around on this site for something like this, and cut into the bumper above the cooler to run the brake duct. I would also removed/relocate the reservior above the FMIC to a place that doesn't block flow.

I'm a fan of Pegasus, thanks for the input.

I'm still on the lookout for another Kuruma Z bumper (like I currently run) but a damaged one that I dont mind cutting up. As you can see it allows alot of air to the IC.

I'll be running the double duct to my oil cooler (basically where yours is mounted but on a Z with the Nismo V2 front end) then my brake duct will come off the outer grill opening where everyone else does it.

The Z has 2 block off plates that direct air to the radiator, the ducts get mounted in them. Search a little over in the racing section.
