Question Decisions, decisions, decisions

well, heres my debate, i went to check out the prices on my racing hart rims and they quoted me 4200 for 19's and toyo t1s tires; however they guy also said they will have a greddy twin turbo kit with intercooler arriving in 2 weeks that installed with cost me 8k.....i have the money but im looking for pros and cons of doing this to my Z....im confused, lol

This really depends on what you want out of your car. The twin turbo will definately be fun, however without some more rubber on the ground, it could be hard to keep any real amount of traction. If the racing Harts are the wheels you want then I would go with them and wait out the whole FI deal until more questions are answered and more cars have demonstrated engine stability. You could also go the route of a S/C for less money and still afford some nice wheels. There is also the option to get less expensive, yet nice wheels and go with a twin turbo depending on your budget.

the two things you have listed there are very conflicting.

either you want power, or you want bling. 19" rims are going to hurt you, performance-wise. They weigh a lot, and a lot of the RH wheels are cast, which means more weight and less strength. If I were you, I'd save some of that cash and get some lightweight 18" wheels and nice rubber (I like the Potenza S-03 and BFG G-Force KD). Just my 2 cents.

All in all, his 19" rims won't hurt him much at all. If he's getting a twin turbo, the MAX difference this extra unsprung mass could make is maybe a dozen horses. My friend put 19" heavy-*** rims & tires on his near-stock Z (AEM intake). He raced it, and beat me when I had a grounding kit & 18" lightweight volks...

He ran a best of 13.9 and I ran a 14.0... so the point is, the rims won't hurt much at all.
