Default coolant bypass ( problem welding )

Ok so I deleated all the ports that were in the write up... I'm having major issues with pin hole leaks. I read most of the thread and I still am gonna ask if anyone has some good advice on sealing these up. Also any suggestiond on makeing sure the slag is compleatly out on the in side? Any help would be great..... Thanks guys

I don't think you're going to be getting the slag out on the inside unless you cut the pipe then reweld it. It's alsmot impossible to get to some of those outlets... As for leaks, I welded up the coolant pipe and haven't had any problems... ? dunno

Ya must have gotten lucky!!!!!!! I'm having nothing but PROBLEMS.... I had 4 people and no luck...Now I just had someone tell me to tig weld it so I'm going to give that a shot I'm just concerned bout whats inside the pipe now. There was 2 times where there was holes that blew threw the metal...

Pluging them with like nuts.. Welding them in then cutting them down. The welder just keeps putting little pin holes in the metal.

Sounds to like you're not getting the part clean. You might also want to try back-gassing, which puts inert gas on the inside of the pipe to stop oxidation of the heated metal that's not being protected by the gas from the torch.

Are you using TIG or MIG? Maybe it would be easier to braze it using oxy-acetylene.

I'm assuming the part is steel, since you mentioned using nuts to fill the holes.
