Default Manuel transmission question

I have a 03 350z track model 6spd and the 2nd to 3rd shift I have a slight grind at the high rpm band when I only speed shift. I read somewhere that it's a common issue with the 03 - 04s because of a bad 3rd syncro and I'm sure my car doesn't have a extended warranty. So I would like to know what newer trannys will bolt up directly to the vq35de motor. I seen that the ones in the 05- 06s ending with cd009 is a much better tranny and will work, but are there any others that will work also that are better? Thanks guys

just the 03-06 and yes the cd009 is supposed to be the best. but the cost for a cd009 if you know how to pull your tranny yourself would be cheaper to just get yours repaired.

Yeah I seen a new one on z1 motorsports or performance, whatever it's called for 1800.00 so yeah I'm kinda debating on what to do. Do u know the differences between the two transmissions like what they changed?

I don't have the info in my memory, but I posted it probably 2-3 years ago. It's something like this:

CD001-CD004 = Single cone synchros on all gears
CD005-CD008 = Double cone synchros on 2nd and 3rd
CD009 = Triple cone synchros on 2nd and 3rd

Don't quote me on the exact division of which CD00x is the cutoff for the changes, but basically they started out with single cone synchros, realized those weren't adequate, went to double cone synchros, realized even those weren't quite adequate, and ended up with triple cone synchros at last. You could find the exact breakdown if you do a search of my posts, if you're so inclined.
