Default Quaife LSD Break In Before the Track???

Alright, I have finally got the first mods for my 2007 Base 350z. Quaife LSD and 4.08 FD.

The plan,
Friday - Bearings pressed on, FD attached to diff. (I picked up the stage II kit from Z-1 to make this possible)
Saturday - Off to the shop remove old diff and install new. 20min of figure 8s change oil. Then 100 mile drive to the drag strip.

OK that being said. Will it be fine or should I just give up on making it to the drag strip. I don't know when the next time will be for me to be able to do this so I was hoping it would be possible. This will be done on street tires as well.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks,
-Michael

Figure 8's in an open parking lot. How are you liking the Quaife so far?

I haven't installed it yet it's still in the box. That is why I was making the post. I know about the figures 8s. I was wondering if after that for 20 minutes it would be go to go for tracking?

From personal experience, plan on devoting at least the entire weekend. I would also recommend having a shop do the install and setup of gears and new lsd.

If you just have to swap diffs, it should take no more than 5 hours to do yourself.

Basically, don't plan on having plans later on in the day.

Gear type LSDs do not require break in beacause there is no surface mating that needs to happen as in clutch types.

Just install an you are ready to go

+3. No break-in required for a Quaife (or the similar Torsen).
