you would need a ECU update from TS or JWT.

Technosquare raises it only 500rpm correct? that still seems low any other solutions?

GEEZ, how high are you planning on taking it? Do you have upgraded internals?

TS is the only ECU out as of now, JWY supposed to be early next year.

so lets says if i had a full built engine with rods, pistons, and valvetrain. could technosquare built a custom ecu with a higher redline? would it be bad for the engine?

if you say it was full built then it wouldn't be bad.

but no matter what there would be a limit.

another data point.. in a Japan car magazine there is an interview with the z project leader talking about future upgrades to the engine. In it he says that they are looking to increase the redline to around 7,500 - 7,600 rpm and he states that this would imply upgrades to the engine such as upgraded valves.. seems that this fine tuned engine is slated to come out in aug of 2004 along with a light weight Z..

I don't think the valvetrain is the issue in raising it another 1k rpm - the cam specs and more importantly bottom end (bearings) seem to be the main hinderances.

I had T/S raise mine to 7200. I was just tried of bouncing of the limiter all the time. Shifting much after 6800 doesn't do much anyway as the power and torque drop off.

Jeff: From what i saw looking at the dyno of a NISMO cam installed, the hp curve was still climbing at 6800rpm vs dropping off with a stock cam. Doesnt your Z have Nismo cams in it? You are not experiencing continued power gain beyound 6800rpm?

Jeff -

If you would bite the bullet and buy Crawford's plenum, and ditch the NISMO headers. You would make power till redline - I totally respect you wanting to run what you sell... but I figure you would want power as well!

You know, with all the talk about the plenum, I was going to take the dive and give it a shot. Your plenum is still on our mod list, but for Jasons car now. Looks like I'm holding off anymore mod's to try out the new Dreamworks Super Charger, and Jasons car will be our N/A guinea pig now.

Gotta love the plenum...

The headers do same thing on top of the plenum, PLUS give gobs of torque.

God Crawford's loves making power...

Near 40hp and 30ft ft-lbs at redline... WITHOUT cams!!!

It's been posted many times already...

We plan on doing more tuning and bring even better numbers to the table. Peak numbers, we're pretty much there... a/f looked good, but down low... MUCH more can be made!
