Default 370z 3.7 final gear and VLSD on 350z

So I have a base 05 350z with leaking open diff. I found a guy that is selling a 3.7 final gear from 09 370z, which he had in his 03 G35 Sedan. From what I gathered so far, it is a VLSD. Do you think it would fit on my 05?

Any thoughts or comments?

What do you mean by "leaking" open diff? Is it leaking oil from the pinion seal and/or the stub axle seals? And, when you're asking about the 370Z part, are you thinking of buying just the diff and gears (the internals) or the whole pumpkin?

Yes, I am looking to upgrade my "slowly leaking/failing" open diff. The 370Z diff sounds like a very good deal ($100), but will it fit?

sorry, I am talking about the entire pumpkin...not just the final gear. Basically the question is: can I swap the pumpkin from 09 6MT 370Z into my base model 05 6MT 350Z?

If it fits the old G, it should bolt right into your Z. There is a difference in the gear ratio, though, so you'll get a bit quicker acceleration, but a little less top end and gas mileage. Not sure if the speedo accuracy is affected, or not.

No change in speedo accuracy. Speed sensors are post diff on the axles.

Correct, and you have to be really freaking carefull to not mess up the crush sleeve when you swap the flange out.
