Default Clutch Making Funny Noise

Hello All,

If you've read my post about replacing a clutch, you know my current plight.

When I got the car back from the dealership, I noticed a funny noise with the clutch. When the pedal is pushed down and you rev the engine to about 2-3k it makes a strange noise. It sounds like (for lack of a better description) you've kicked a dog... kind of a quick "yelp". It's not terribly loud but you can here it easily. The service manager tells me that they drove two other 350z's and they make similar noises. I don't buy this, my car never did that before they "fixed it".

I'm supposed to pick it up tomorrow. I'm going to demand to drive a new Z and if it doesn't make the same noise I will tell them to:

Fix my car
_or_
I will take it to another transmission shop and the dealership can pay the bill.

What does everyone think about this? Anyone else having a similar noise since apparently it's "common".

Thanks,
Wesley

it's not normal but i haven't decided whether it's of consequence. my car has that chirp, it was pretty frequent right after the clutch was replaced but it's gotten a lot less frequent and quieter when i do hear it after putting miles on it. and my friend put a centerforce clutch in his miata and it also chirped when starting from a stop.

Wow. There seems to be only really old threads on this subject. I'd sure like to know what I can do to stop this same noise. It's a weird chirp or honk sound when you rev it whith the clutch in. Anyone solve this?

Pretty vague description on the sound, but I believe I've heard similar on my old rx-7. A quick spot of grease on the clutch slave rod (where it meets the fork) shut it up real fast.

Exactly what I had in mind, haha.

A bit of grease is needed at the pivot ball as well, but if that got missed it certainly isn't a quick fix.
