Custom Engine Grounding/Earthing Kit
There are so many posts here it may have been mentioned.
Does the orange grounding kit the same color as sunset/burnt orange color?
I wanted to get silver but is it true that these change to a nasty color over time?
Feedback appreciated. I plan on ordering one of the kits ASAP.

Hey otto, I emailed him in case you haven't at this point. He told me that over time it would change color slightly and someone else before said that their kit has turned a little yellow.
With that in mind, I decided to order a smoked 5 cable kit for my Silverstone. I'll post saying if I feel any change. If it doesn't help, i Hope I'm crazy like the other people here and at least think I feel a change.
Also, Guy responds very quick to emails which is always good and seems very approachable like others have put it. Can't wait to get the cables in!

Received my z-xtreme kit yesterday and put it on my G35 6mt last night. I have to say I've been a semi-skeptic of this mod for awhile now. I thought it maybe could make a difference on an older car where grounding and other wiring had begun to deteriorate, but probably good for nothing on a brand new car.
A semi-skeptic's impressions: (I have not reset the ecu prior to or since doing this)
After 2 drives: car starts a little more gently, like the starter motor doesn't torque the engine as much to get it going.
Idle speed has dropped by 50-75 rpm.
Slow starts in first gear from a stop no longer causes the semi-stalling / hesitation that it used to. I think this will be great for trips in stop/go traffic.
I've read others say the engine feels "smoother" and I wasnt sure what the heck that was supposed to mean. I would describe it like the engine revving at 3500 rpm feels like it used to at 2500 rpm, and 5k feels like 4k used to, etc. This is good! The engine used to feel kind of rough anywhere above 3500 and I would shift early just to keep it in the smoother rpm range. Now I am happy to let it rev more freely before shifting
Feels like the car can coast much farther off throttle.
Any power increase was not noticeable to the butt dyno.
Summary: My impression is that this mod primarily seems to even out the spikes in the fuel delivery. It cannot significantly increase the quantity of fuel or air going into the engine, therefore it cannot increase power significantly, though I think a more even delivery of fuel/air may help a little.
For $75, I think this is definately a worthwhile mod. Thanks to insaneamine for FANTASTIC customer service!

well I got my kit. Im definetly happy I went with smoke, it looks a lot better in person than in pics. It has a more interesting look instead of just the dark copper color it would seem it has from the pics that are online. Im gonna be putting the cables on this weekend and will report then whether they change anything.
As if Guy needed any more endorsements... Got the kit yesterday and installed in about an hour. Looks good, and had no issues. Unfortunately, we've got a nasty mix of rain/sleet/snow/ice going on in Virginia, so I haven't even bothered starting her.
As a side note, I opted for Black. Since I have a CS, I really wanted the silver cables until I heard that they discolor over time. Not much you can do about it...
Overall, very happy with the transaction. I had it within a couple days of purchase. Kudos to Guy for continuing to meet demand.

Well, I finally got around to putting my smoked kit in. Guy was a pleasure to deal with. No prob on that side. Install was pretty much a breeze as well. Took my sweet time getting it in because I wanted to make sure everything was in the right spot and my hands didnt fit in some spots easily.
Like how it looks but I dont know if I feel any difference. Maybe a little higher up in the RPMs but maybe I'm a little crazy. Oh well if anything, now I can at least say I have it since everyone else on the forum already does. Now the rogue shifter is another story...

OK, I'm sorry for asking this but I tried going back to this thread and I probably missed it. I'm actually ready to buy my kit but I've been reading about a 7th wire for the auto? The last time I heard there was only a 6th wire but this was way back when. Is there additional info on the purpose of the 7th wire and price difference? Thanks.
7th wire, somewhere back in the past 20 pages. from what i remember it doesn't serve any noticeable purpose but shouldnt cost more than 5-10 dollars more. If you get it at least you can always say that you have all the cables you could possibly have. Remember reading though that its annoying to get to. Probably just better off with the 5 or if you really want it, the 6 cable kit.good luck

Hello there Katherine,
I just realized your email address as I was packaging your grounding kit.
Very interesting indeed! Why didn't you just get a Nismo grounding kit? OR, is your company interested in contracting me for a supply of these wonderful kits???
My grounding kit was modeled after Sun's HyperGround Earthing System and then fine tuned into a better fitting product using higher quality materials. I also believe that my system is different enough from Nissan's JDM kit to avoid any legal issues.
I am very curious about this transaction and would appreciate any comments, criticism, and/or feedback that you might be able to offer once you get your kit.
Respectfully,
Gyula Szita

Oh dear, I've been unmasked. Actually one of the engineers in my group here is planning on using your kit in a benchmark / potential new OEM accessory study he is working on. We've actually ordered a number of ground wire kits. Some vehicle specific, some universal. Since I've figured out how to navigate through and around our purchasing group to get stuff, I got the job of placing the orders. As for anything NISMO, we already have it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Katherine,
Thanks for getting back with me so quickly, I appreciate it. Would it be possible to be privy to the outcome of this benchmark??? I would be curious how my kit actually performs. I have had plenty of folks who have run dynos with my kit obtain positive results. However, as a scientist, I am always suspicious of small incremental performance increases especially in hp. The benefits from improved throttle response are immediately noticeable.
Anyway, thanks again for your support. Moreover, thank you for this wonderful opportunity to take part in your benchmark. I am honored.
Be well,
GHS

Guy,
You'd have to thank the engineer doing the study, he's the one that chose the kits to get. Hopefully he'll have the time and resources to do an in depth study. If he times it right he can probably get this installed on our test 350z and on a dyno. The only hiccup is that our test 350z has an active calendar. As for knowing the out come of the benchmark test, it probably falls under the heading of proprietary information, sorry.

Thanks, I'll probably just get the 6 wires because I don't want to mess with the 7th. This will be my first mod.

I finally got my ground kit installed. It took me about an hour to get it installed. The idling is definately better at under 1K RPM. I was very surprised that my shifting has improved also. It seems to go through the gears faster now. Not bad for my first MOD.
I just wanted to chime in and say that I too recently received my kit and installed it.
I want to thank the man himself to helping me (w/ Paypal & stuff) and for producing a wonderful kit and getting it to me VERY VERY fast.
I've noticed a lot of things since putting it on: my voltmeter doesn't fluctuate anymore, idling seems smoother and acceleration seems smoother.
A nice kit all around! Thanks!

I couldn't install my 6th wire because I lost the page where it tells you where to mount it. If it's not too much to ask, can you all tell me where the 6th wire goes? I tried going back on this thread but couldn't find it. Thanks.
