Custom Engine Grounding/Earthing Kit
Custom Grounding / Earthing Kit
I finally got around to making this post…
Constructed and installed the grounding kit a couple of weeks ago. It is a very subtle mod. Smoother acceleration is obvious over 4k rpm. Haven’t noticed increased gas mileage, however, I am just at 2k miles and I have been exercising the beast!

Grounding Kit
From what I have been able to gleen from other forums and from "informed experts," The 350Z Engine Grounding/Earthing Kit allows for cleaner data transfer to the ECU. The result is more accurate measurements by the ECU and therefore more accurate performance, smoother idle and acceleration.
I think so!

Hey folks!
Yes, I am aware of Mr. Victor’s post. That is why I didn’t include any how-to stuff just the pictures.
Anyway, I still believe that while the kit is easy to make not every one will want to do it themselves.
Besides, I went the extra mile and purchased the heat shrink gun and the industrial crimp. Again, these were minor investments but if I can put them to good use building some for my fellow enthusiast – all the better.
Also, I would like to salute Victor again for his awesome initial post!!!
Be well.

Actual Costs
BTW, for a break down on what it coast me to produce:
20 ft. 4 gauge insulated copper wire = $32.00
Box of 24 gold plated terminals = $25.00
3 ft. Heat Shrink tube = $2.50
Heat Shrink Gun = $29.00
Industrial Crimp = $30.00
Labor??? What is my time really worth??? I think it took about and hour to cut, trim, crimp, and heat shrink.
Grand Total = $118.50 !!!
I am hoping, if I get enough of a response to be able to purchase the cable and terminals at wholesale. And also offer different colors.
We’ll see.
Since the “raw” materials set me back about $40 bucks, I’d like to get about $75 bucks per set. Does this sound fair?
The Nismo kit goes for somewhere in the hood of $200???

$75 sounds like a really fair price considering what's being charged on the accessory market. I'd do it myself if I had a crimper. If I can't solve that issue I'd buy one from you, but it's got to be silver coated wire for my Silverstone.

By popular demand!
Thanks again for everyone's support. Interest has almost been overwhelming.
As a lot of people have requested here is a pictorial of the install I am posting it.
For other photos and some more technical information please check out SKiDaZZLe's great thread here:

Remove engine cover
Remove the black plastic engine cover by removing the 4 - 10mm screws. For the 2 under the strut bar use the 10mm wrench. The one under the strut on the right side is a bit tricky but it does come out. For the 2 near the front of the cover use the 10mm socket and driver.
