Default Unorthodox Racing Pulleys/Flywheel

Has anyone done a before and after dyno test with the Unorthodox Racing SS Pulley set?

And has anyone used the Unorthodox Racing Lightweight flywheel?

They are very high quality products. I'll have some more info once I get them installed on my car soon.

Pulley kit is going on my ride today, along with the Crawford headers.Crawford plenum & evo throttle body yesterday. I did run my baseline dyno, but when I run another it will be with all my mods so while I won't be able to tell how much the pulley kit gained, I'll know what the full package gained. My mods done to date are linked in my sig

go to:

www.nissanperformancemag.com

Click on the project 350z. They have dyno results and the pulleys gained 5whp through the entire rpm band. The crank pulley adds the hp gain, so you could just get a crank pulley and call it a day.

How much are you asking for the Crank pulley shipped to 32955?

I'd like black if possible or silver.

You need to get new belts for the crank pulley.

There is no additional gains with the accessory pulleys... they are more for show...

Can someone please explain what the pulley is, how it improves performance, and how easy it is to fi. I gather that that it is the front pulley behind the radiator around which belt(s) that drives the water pump, power stearing and AC belts.

How can changes this improve performance? It appears to be a very simple and cost effective mod if it gains 6hp. Is there any downside to it?

it is a lighter pulley ,like putting in a lighter flywheel in a maunaul transmission car... i believe it is slightly smaller in size from the stock crank pulley allowing for more RPM's..

down sides.. well.. the common down side to pulley's does not apply on our car since they are internally ballenced within the engine. some cars rely on the stock pulley for ballance, but we dont have to worry about that.

Thumbs up

I did experience some belt squeal a few days following the install of my UR crank pulley. It only happened during startup. 20 minutes at the dealer and it was fixed. It was a simple readjustment of the belt tensioner, and the squeal was gone.

Where are you getting your pulleys installed and for how much?

Isn't one of the down sides that you don't get the same cranking power to the alternator and that you may find battery life suffers? I don't know if I believe this theory but it has been passed around.

Save your money...no need for a full kit. I can NOT believe that they're still marketing the full kit as having a "water pump pulley" when the Z has no external water pump pulley. The instructions still have the idler pulley listed as "water pump pulley"....it's too funny

Sounds like a good mod. How hard is the crank pulley to install and how long does it take?
