Default Stock Head Info

I've been searching for awhile now, and it seems like I can't get a straight answer. Maybe I'm not using the correct words to search. Anywho can someone let me know how much hp the stock DE heads are rated to. I'm starting to plan out my build, shooting for 500whp. So any info would be appreciated.

Do you mean the potential they have with the amount of flow, and what cams are you talking about ?

I think many people have gone closer to 600whp without feeling that the stock heads were holding them back. I would leave your heads stock and spend elsewhere.

Thom made over 800whp on stock heads and cams.

Alberto is making 700+whp on stock heads.

Jtgli made 700+whp on stock heads and cams (Rev-Up)

You should be able to make 500whp DJ (or even DD) on a DE without changing heads or cams if you have the proper turbo system. If you aren't thinking F/I then I don't think you will reach your goal.

The F/I forum is the place for most of the built motor info, but tread carefully... its like Sparta in there and not overly noob friendly. Do lots of reseach and reading first.

search FI forums for builds.

heads flow great on these cars. Thom has taken stock heads and cams up to 700hp. Cams will help with power up that high but i don't think heads would be needed. I only have ported heads because i got a great deal on them otherwise stock heads/cams is all one would need for 700-800hp.

for 500hp i wouldn't put a very aggressive cam in it unless you don't mind your power coming on until later in the rpm range. I'd rather have it hit lower and carry it longer since you are staying down at the 500hp range.

Yeah definitely keeping them stock now. I just need to find a block now. No one wants to ship one, and definitely no one has a block locally.

i just got rid of mine for 350$ here in st louis.

The guy hasn't done anything with it yet so i guess i could see if he wants to get rid of it.

I do have a built block sitting here in my garage. send me an email: jeffbinder@gmail.com

and i can give you the 411 and see if you would be interested. My friend trae that goes to school with me will be driving back to OK next month for break. I'm sure he would deliver it for some gas money.
