Default Gauge Routing From Engine Bay

I am planning to install a boost gauge and oil temperature gauge on my 07 350Z base model. I would like to know some of the routing paths from the engine compartment to the dash area. I noted on one of the DYI posts they show a grommet located in the battery compartment area. Is this behind the battery as it is not visible with the battery in place? Also, are there other better penetration locations?
Thanks for any info.

There is a great spot behind the driver side front fender liner. That's where all mine are routed through.

Thanks, but do you mean the fender protectors in the wheel arch, or where the brake master cylinder is located?

I've routed some through a gromet that is about 1/2" in diameter. Right by the fuse box but on the firewall.

I use most of my stuff for my ecu through the oem wiring harness grommet up on the passenger side though.

Thanks Jeff. I found a picture of where the gourmet is on the passenger side. I will take a look tomorrow on my car but that looks like a good place to run the wires.

The main harness grommet on pass side is not really behind the battery. Remove the battery cover (4 push pins I think), then two more pins to remove the plastic piece for the cowl under the pass side wiper. Up at the top left you will see the main harness, if it is untouched from the factory you may have to remove some shrink wrap or tape to get to the rubber grommet. You can run it through there and it will drop into the passenger foot well.

There is another grommet on the pass side if you remove the rear side of the front fender liner. Another grommet on the drivers side near the steering column as well, but its difficult to get to without the engine out or the car on a lift. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the pics. I actually found the first link you listed after I posted the question here, as I mentioned above. I have already replaced my battery so I am familiar with the panels in that area. Thanks again.
