Default Jwt vq35 adjustable exhaust cam gears.

JWT just released this:

JWT has just added this set of adjustable VQ exh. cam gears for engine builders intent on gaining the most out of a VQ35 or VQ40 engine, turbo or NA. With eight positions of 2.5 crank degrees each, these gears allow enough adjustment to span a full tooth if needed for infinite cam timing corrections. The gears open up many possibilities like converting Revup engines to run in DE configuration, resetting exhaust cams after altering crank sprocket timing, and just being able to easily explore all cam timing options. Part# AVQ35-EGEAR

Nice.. However removing the front timing cover multiple times while the engine is in the car is not a fun task just to "test"

I just saw these a few days ago. I have to take apart my crap to replace the exhaust vtc sprocket, so I might upgrade to Nismo VTC sprockets(2) and these, if a convo w JWT proves fruitful.

What do these do exactly? What is the benefit? Is it for built applications only?

why would you take the timing cover off? the whole point of adjustable cam gears is that when you "degree" cams is to change your lobe center seperation... you should already know what timing is needed prior to assembly the engine for the final time

exhaust VTC sprocket? what is that? this is for DE and 4.0 engines... could be used on VHRs if you were doing an exhaust cam...

2006 Rev-ups use an exhaust retarder there is no parts that go bad in the timing cover, maybe the clutch material that is in the VTC covers...
