Sport Compact Car Ultimate Shootout
The new issue of Sport Compact Car is out with the 10 finalists for the shootout listed and detailed. Interestingly the Axis 350Z is in the contest with an ATI Procharger kit on it.......with no ecu changes listed in the mods section. It looks like the off the shelf kit. I hope they don't test on a cool day.....the car probably won't make it through the test. After watching the last shootout highlights and how they beat the crap out of these cars I can't see how the ATI car will last. The "gross display of horsepower" test I think will be the killer. The 350Z doing donuts, bouncing off the rev limiter, with no airflow on the intercooler, I think will spell the END!!! Maybe ATI will then get the picture....only time will tell. If it does blow, then maybe the bad press will help them see the light.

Tuning is the key, and if they get it rich enough at the top end they won't blow it up. They won't maximize power either, but they won't blow it up. They are not fools and they are not deaf or blind to what is going on in the community. I would suspect the car will be given enough tuning tlc to acquit itself well. That doesn't help anyone out here in the real world find out what to do to keep the unit happy, but it will help ATI sell more units. Don't you think that is the way it will go down?

I would not be surprised if they had an ATI tuner there to make the adjustments on the car to make sure it has a good showing. My only concern is the type of testing they will be doing will break one of the cardinal rules ATI has about mantaining airflow across the intercooler aka. NO DRIFTING/DONUT CONTESTS

Then had someone who KNEW how to tune the ATI.
Give it up, the ATI is a GOOD kit if tuned properly.

It has the standings according to one of the competitors, he had the green Supra that's "almost stock." It hasn't been bumped in a while, so it's prob in page 2 or 3. No numbers though.
