Default look at my gear marks in diff

my diff was making alot of noise after i installed a carbonetic 2 way lsd. i assumed the backlash was off and/or pinion was off, so i took it to a shop since i was uncomfortable doing it myself. i think they messed it up more... now its louder, i took pics of the gear marks before i installed the diff just in case.what do you think?

Beside the mesh being incorrect as noted the ATS/Carbonetic LSD's are notorious for chewing bearings. Look on this site for reports. They revised the plates to help with this but I would recommend changing the oil frequently. Awesome LSD otherwise

I just went they said the noise is my tranny I laughed in his face and told him about the 2 other diffs I have that I have been riding on and make zero noise. I regret using this shop. Now I'm waiting for the supervisor to get here...

How can you tell this just by looking at pictures? I thought backlash could only be measured?

the manager got there and they held on to the car for a couple hours and they agreed it was the diff, and that it was their fault. i just need to take my diff off and take it back to them. tomorrow most likely. hopefully they do it right this time

The reason for the yellow paint is to show how the pinion is meeting the ring gear. Its very toe biased which you can see from the pics and the fixed for that is adding back lash..
