very easy...heres a pic..Remove the 10mm bolts holding each coil..# on each side..pic 1 is drivers side#1 and pic 2 is passenger side #5...You will need a sparkplug socket and a 6-8"extension..

How long did it take you to change out all the plugs? I think my dealer is screwing me and charging $236 for what seems a simple install.

took me about an hour because i had to move so many wires/hoses around to access the plugs

and i had to remove my intake tube also

pretty straight-forward, just a little time-consuming.

You know there was two things that drove me crazy on the Z.. 1. finding out there were no spark plug wires and 2. haveing to search for the plugs that aren't visable to the nekkid eye!

Guys..thanks for uncovering them and "showing me the way"! I'm planning on a cheap mod by switching over to iridium plugs too. Heard nothing but great things about them! Oh, and BTW they're NGK LFR6A-11's

How many good miles can we expect to get out of the stock plugs?

The stock plugs are platinum plugs as I recall. I think the owners manual requires replacement at 105K miles. (Heh..I'm not waiting that long to change mine out..) I have about 16,500 give or take a few.. I understand the new plugs give a little more HP at the rear wheels as well as smoother idles. So why not?

The LFR6A plug is not iridium, it is a standard plug just 1 degree colder... I swapped mine a few weeks ago at 40,000 miles and they made a big difference. Also the stock gaps were all over the place, anywhere from .040-.050....... There is no way I would wait 100,000 before changing the plugs... Also, anti-seize is a grease that should be put on the plug threads whenever installing new plugs so you can change them again in the future. It protects the threads against heat and water .... You also want to put some dialetric grease in the plug boots.....

Thanks j's350z, I think the correct iridium plug numbers is OE Laser Iridium LFR5AIX-11 with a gap of 0.044. Don't know if this is a colder plug or not?

It would not suprise me if the dealer charged $230 to change the plugs. It probably books out to a 2.5-3.0 hour job. But realistically, it can be done in under 1 hour.

If anyone needs 1 step colder NGK Iridiums for FI/Nitrous cars, we always carry about 30-40 sets in stock. Click here: http://www.forgedinternals.com/store...cat=264&page=1

That's correct: 6 NGK Iridium 1 step colder plugs, and shipping is included.

Be sure to use inch/lbs rather then foot/lbs when installing the new plugs as well.

Your order has been processed. Yup, just double check the gaps, but they should be around .040-.044, and ready to go. We dont gap FI plugs down, becuase Nissan's coil over plug ignition system is very robust, and I havent seen spark blow out...even beyond 600whp+.
