Default Worst thing happened to me!

So five days ago my 350z got hit by two vehicles while stopped at a red light. I was hit by a Honda crv from the back right and spun me 180 degress to the left and then a ford f350 plowed my driver door. Yes I'm fine, but my baby was totaled. Since my insurance gave me a nice amount for the z, I decided to spend it on a 2007 g35 sedan. Here comes my question, my 350z was a 06 with the rev up vq35de, Im wondering if I can tranny swap the 07 g35 since it has a vq35hr. I can get my tranny from my 350z and all the parts. Just need advice if it will work or not. My z was 6MT the g is auto.

I don't have first hand experience with these specific details, but I will try to give you some advice. I think you will be able to fit the transmission parts, but don't forget you have to do the clutch pedal install, and I am not sure if you will run into problems swapping the computer and main wiring harness.

would you do the work, or have a shop do it? if you are doing it be prepared to return it back to stock if you run into a problem. if a shop is doing it, make sure they can guarantee it.

I'm pretty sure it will bolt right up, the hard part will be finding a clutch assy and center console then just the ecu, I dont believe the de ecu will work for the hr at all so you would either have to get the ecu from a manual car or see if they can remap your ecu for the manual

Glad you came out of the ordeal ok and sorry to hear about your car but why wouldn't you just buy a 6MT G?

HR's and DE's have different transmissions, so no go.
