Nope, oil and temp will usually stay pretty close. I run at around 150 degree oil temp during normal street driving and have a large cooler mounted with a bigger pan.

add the oil cooler…I'm sure you can cool your oil too much but I'm not sure how…

consider this…what cools your block? your coolant and radiator…what cools your internal engine components? your oil…now what's cooling your oil? that 24" of steel tubing - not very much it's not...

Just use sandwich plate with thermostat and don't worry about under cooling.

I have a large capacity pan, larger aluminum radiator with 12 & 13" spal fans and a decent sized oil cooler. Oil never got over 180 during the Az summer when it was never under 100 and now with 40-60 degree temps my gauge that starts at 140 takes almost 20 minutes to move, then settling at about 150.

Coolant temp sits about 190 and at idle gets no higher than 210.

150 degree is normal temp for engine oil?
I can't remember 100% but mine reads like 180 degree normally.

I was wrong about my gauge. It starts at 100.

Friday it was in the 40s. I drove 20 minutes on the freeway. It only moved from 100 when I was parked after about 2 minutes.

80 degree weather daily my oil temps usually read about 140-160 driving around town about 140 highway, not even high enough to get oil to the cooler. only time they get higher is repeated high boost runs it will hit 180. coolant typically stays about 170-180

get a mocal thermostat and it wont even open till 180

Its really cold in Vegas now and my gauge has only been hooked up for a few weeks. I dont have an oil thermostat , it goes to the cooler at all times. A few weeks ago, the max oil temp i hit at the track was 185 , but it was also 40 outside.

If you beat on your car, you want an external cooler. Plain and simple

The HU is a Kenwood DNX9980HD running Garmin NAV which accepts Bluetooth OBDII data. It can show pretty much anything OBDII feeds.
