Just read this article online about Slowboy racing, pass it on!
Bought a "Built" 2.0 Engine. Waited almost 3 months to get. When i checked on the status by e-mail I never got a reply and always had to call. When i did call they were always "out to lunch".
After almost giving up on it, it finally arrives. Opened the box in our shop to find the worse build I've ever seen to date.
I've seen AMS, Buschur, ETS, all with great luck but these people just don't know what they are doing or they just don't care.
First, let me start by saying that visibly we could easily tell that the pistons had been squeezed too hard as they got fitted with the beams and the rings because they had HUGE dents in the top corners completely deforming the cuts in the tops of them.
The crank looked like it had been sitting outside in salty environment for a while cause it was COMPLETELY rusted.
Next, we ordered ACL bearings but instead got what looked like used damaged bearings that looked and felt like somebody had run a screwdriver right down the middle of them. You could easily feel the engravement in 2 of them. Not sure how they managed that.
Ordered ARP studs but got none.
Upon closer inspection and to the greatest disappointment we could see that it was the wrong brand of internals!!! I wish i could say it was for the best but it was weaker cheaper parts than what we payed for. Whatta Hell!!
I guess they just expect you throw it in your car and not ask any questions.
Out of coincidence a week before we received the motor, we had a car come in the shop because their brand new engine from Slowboy Racing was having "crank walk" and needed to be taken apart. I was hoping it was a freak accident thing but now seeing first hand the butcher job they do I would advice everyone who is even thinking about buying their engine or building your current engine TO STAY AWAY from Slowboy Racing. All they want is your money. They don't care about their reputation.
In the many e-mails I wrote them to try to fix this issue I asked if they cared at all about their reputation but even to that I couldn't get a reaction toward a positive resolution.
I hope that what happened to us does not happen to you!
Use ETS, Buschur or AMS, we've always had great luck with them!

A google search for their name came up with mostly terrible posts from other forums, ripoff/scam alerts, and rumors that they are going out of business. I'm not sure why someone trusted them with an engine build. Not that the consumer is to blame, but in today's day and age, I wonder why people don't take 10 seconds to google a company before spending that kind of money with them.
