speedometer sticking

Question speedometer sticking

I have a 2004 roadster with at. on 2 occasions the speedometer has stuck @ 42 mph . it unsticks when you come to a stop and accelerate. my dealer told me one other z owner had the same thing happen . Any answers out there?

Argue with the dealer until they replace it. If you arnt one to be persistant, you could take off the whole panel, and pull the needles up VERY slightly. But I would much rather just get it replaced at the dealer.

Ive had the same thing happen with my tach when I first got the car. I would start driving and it was stuck at 500rpm knowing it was supposed to be moving. Hasnt happend lately though.

Hey same thing happened to me. My tach got stuck at about 500 rpm. So i just smacked the **** to get it loose. I was like... WTF??? I just ignored it and hope it doesnt happen again.

hey man nuts to that, mine has never done that and fact of the matter, u spent 30+k on the car, make the dealer replace it for u, cuz thas a load of BS

My tach stuck once too. Turned car off (in parking lot) and restared and it hasn't happened again.
