Where would the heratiage be in an AWD version?!

That changed, I don't see whats so rediculous about AWD, especially since the G35 (practically the same car) now has it.
As for Purists being upset, well, I've owned a 240Z, a 1984 Anniversery Edition 300ZX, and a Z32 TT, so while I might not be a purist, I'm a loyal Z customer, and I don't see a problem with AWD.
As for hoping it doesn't get AWD, I don't understand that. If you don't want AWD, don't buy it with that option. No reason to hope the whole line doesn't have an AWD option.

Sounds like a guessing (speculation) game...my guess Nissan here will increase the compression on the Z, minor headwork; squeeze more power and rate it 300-320 hp and lighten here and there with minor cosmetic changes and call it good with a fair price increase. Call it new. Turbo? The jap companies aren't really going the turbo route due to US and their strict @$$ air standards. Hence the reason why most of them went N/A or is planning to go N/A. Anyone agree?
Well, you do have Subies and Mitsus with turbos out there. They are 4 cylinders but they are out there. I do think that companies are concerned about warranty costs with turbo motors. Even Audi went V8 from twin turbo 6 in the S4. A lot of people chipped and popped the motors. Not saying this is the reason but they do go hand in hand.

I heard they went the turbo route for the 300zx because the thing weighed so much and it needed turbos to get any speed up. So if we use that logic then they moved away from turbos because they could get enough power with todays technology out of the VQ engine without them. And maybe because of all the awards they were getting for the engine without turbos.
Pure speculation(Guessing Game), do not take anything said here to be anything but.

I'm quite sure Nissan won't increase the compression ratio of this engine. It's already at 10.5:1 and requires premium gas to run correctly. (SportCompactCar did a dyno pull with 100 octane race gas and found the Z made 5HP more from 91 pump gas...this indicates that she's riding the knock sensor already).
Turbos actually increase the overall efficiency of an engine (i.e. less gas for more power) since they increase the volumetric efficiency with little power taken from the exhaust to drive them. The problem with turbos is the cost, maintenance, and packaging...that's why all cars don't have turbos, it's not because they pollute more (of course a 300HP engine will pollute more than a 50HP engine, but that's not the turbo's fault).
AWD. Yeah, it's questionable if it will appear on the Z. However, the front end looks like it will accept front drive shafts real easily. The Z caters to a different segment, but the WRX has sold exclusively on the principal that it's practical AND fast...people seem to like that stuff. And why not? I dunno, maybe I'm just hoping for a bonafide USDM Skyline that isn't supposed to be a luxury car...I have no use for leather.

Yeah they wouldnt be able to increase the compression there in the US, but in AU we've got 98 oct fuel, so I think they could up it from the 10.3 compression to 10.75 over here without dramas. Might need to address the extra heat which would be created though.
