Default removing bellhousing from transmission

Hey Guys,

I am looking at the FSM for a 2004 350Z and I am seeing that it guides you to have to take apart the whole rear of the transmission to remove the bellhousing from the transmission. I am going to need to remove just the front bellhousing to have 5/8" machined off (or does anyone know a machine shop that can to it without taking the transmission apart??) for using this on a 1JZ motor

For people that have taken these apart before, does the front half of the bellhousing come off without removing the shifter and all the little bits in the tail end of the transmission? or do i have to remove the tail end first?

thanks!
Marko

You can remove front only. Just did this a few weeks ago. But you're definitely better off doing both as you'll have to reseal the rear half anyways as it also starts to split off
