i can tell you its entirely not worth it iirc someone pulled it apart and pretty much a HR pump thats made to fit on the de with polished internals. dosnt eliminate the issue of oil aeration. if going to spend that much then buy a dry sump pump for $500 and custom plumb it in you dont need to have fontana's setup to do a dry sump.

fwiw its hi pressure, and you still need a custom pan if you want a dry sump. fuel and oil are the 2 things you dont cobble together

what are you referring to for fuel?

absoutely dont need a different pan, the only thing you gain from that is additional clearance. alot of people who convert different cars to dry sump still use stock pans, just have two stages of the pump pull from the factory pan to make sure nothing collects in it. if you watch carefully you can pick up a 5 stage pump even for 500 bucks.

your already going to have to tap into several places in the block theres no sense spending a extra 4500 essentially for just a oil pan, can have one custom machined for cheaper if you really want it but def dont need it.

go for a revup pump then or try to retro fit the HR since it seems it just requires removal of a locating pin. your not going to pick up an actual nismo pump for $300, mayby if you add another $1000 onto that minimum.

ya, new nismo pumps are 1200$ so I doubt someone would sell one for 1/4 the price.

The HR pump is sufficient for almost all builds shy of the monster 1000hp builds.

would have to find the thread but someone tried it and the only thing that stopped it from bolting right in was a single locating pin so they dint want to "ghetto" there engine in that persons words.

rest of us call that simply reengineering *shrug* if i had come across it at the time i woulda just stuck a hr pump in mine.

imo the person posting that made a ignorant comment because **** like that is done all the time to enhance engines nothing ghetto about breaking it off or grinding it/clearancing to fit. If people dint the 383 chevy never would have come into existence.

Interesting, I may have to grab one and play with the pin.

Sorry, I mistyped. I mean REV UP oil pump. I think modifications need to be made to get an HR pump to fit.

REV UP pump fits just fine and has worked great for us with some moderate build specs (up to 750hp). I think the main thing to watch is RPM but I have rev'ed mine to 8500 without any issues on logs of my oil pressure. 7500 would be well within the safe limits of that REV UP pump

I'm doing that with a Rev Up and so far no engine problems. I was doing that on my last engine and even after losing all oil pressure due to an oil line being cut (then driving for a few hours with no oil since the oem oil light was apparently faulty) I only had 1 bearing that was damaged. The rest had only minimal wear.
