Default Wich upgrades to get

Biggest Bang 4 the buck upgrades.

Hi i'm Tim from the Netherlands and since just few people have Z knowledge over here i'm turning to you guys with a few questions.

My Z allready has:
A invidia exhaust system
Test pipes
Manifold spacer
r2c short ram

There is allready been a lot of posting and i searched but couldn't find satisfying answers so here we go:

I want to buy a flywheel, an intake and a short shifter. I have been browsing the web but would like you guys with experience to tell me if it's good or not and wearth the money.

Intake-Motordyne mrev 2
Flywheel-jwt 14lbs/6.35kg or nismo 9.2 kg
Short shifter- nismo or stillin

Could you guys advice me on this, main concerns are:
Intake-not giving performace like i hope (will cost me €650,- / $884,-)
flywheel-jwt, to light and make a nervous impression
-nismo, to little gain and not notecible
Short shifter - With hi speeds vibrating more then an average vibrator

If you would recogment a different product because you have a good experience with it, please tell me.

Nothing more to say but, thanks for your effort and sorry for my English.

For the peeps that enjoy pictures, here's one of mine

What do you do with your car is the question? Daily driver? Track car? Autocross? Lightweight flywheel and clutch are great upgrades. If you have no plan for forced induction then jwt is OK. I hate mine but it came with the car. I'd prefer something more aggressive

The Z is not my daily, it's my pedal to the floor cruise car

Why would you not recogment the jwt in combo with forced induction?
There is 1 twin turbo Z here in NL that makes 598hp and 745,5nm he also uses the jwt flywheel, i thought with a twins setup and light flywheel such as the jwt it doesn't matter if your rpm falls back more/quiker when shifting because the twins pick that up.

Here's what I would do;

First, Sell intake, grab 06 airbox.

Go lightweight flywheel, and 4.08 gears.
Weight reduction.

I would start with JWT flywheel and clutch. Even if stock clutch is ok, do both flywheel and clutch together to save labor. I have the Stillen flywheel (on car when purchased) and installed JWT clutch, highly recommend that clutch.

Also agree that the stock 06 airbox is a better choice than after market cold air intakes. Stock air box was improved that year and includes a velocity stack as part of the stock air box as the older models like my 03 did not have.

Tune is a good bang for your buck as well, I picked up 8hp 12 ft-lb which is typical and about as good as any other NA modification for the VQ.

1) Uprev tune
2) sway bars and end links
3) 4.08 gears (since its your fun weekend car, you shouldn't worry about ur mpg going out of the window)

the main question is..... what is your budget, are you penny pinching or going ***** out?

i would recommend a tune, it is costly (dont get butthurt if you dont get numbers you want) because it does make the care snappier. my initial tune i hit 274, and then after changing a couple things and getting retuned i hit 286

When i drive to the UK to get some SSR professors for my former Silvia, i don't think im in the category of penny pinching

Numbers of a tune ain't that important to me it's the drive that counds, what kind of ecu would you guys recogmend or are you using?
Often used ecu's here are:
Link g4
Haltech
Vems

And would you guys still recogment the jwt flywheel if you knew there are future turbo plans?

So that airbox is a good deal! Still recogment this if this winter there's gonna be an air duct like this placed in the bumper.

And them gears will do what for me?
If the mpg where a problem i had bought myself a prius

Thanks for your reply's so far

+1 on gears and a tune. They're where you'll see the biggest difference.

The final drive gears will allow you to accelerate faster. Thus making you have to shift earlier and de-creasing you max speed.
But will pull alot harder.
I would want to install these in my Z but unfortunately it's my daily

Wouldn't this technically be, any "rev-up" airbox? I thought this was already solved, but still conflicting info.

There is/used to be a guy on this site who sold the parts to raise the internals of the airbox so it was equal to the '06. There is a guy on the 350z-UK.com website also selling these parts and as they are not large or heavy they would be easy to post. As 2000atlanticgt and Bigsyke say they are generally known to be the best airbox for a slight increase in power and a lack of heat soak as a result of its design.
