Silent Modifications. Any Suggestions?
Short version:
Im interested in some modest modifications to my '05 350ZR that will maintain the stock noise level in my car. I want more hp, torque, and faster revs i just dont want to be forced to listen to annoying whines and drones to get there.
ANY SUGGESTIONS? What where your first mods?

Intake
So what i want to do is make the car breathe better but mods make me nervous. I got a cold air intake for a mustang i use to own and immediately the car had this unbearable high pitch whistle. Not even 1000w of stereo could drown it out.
Exhaust
Also would like to get a true dual exhaust system but one that does not drone. just want to get a nice deep grumble at idle and be able to really hear it when i mash out with the top down (if i ever get it fixed). The stock system really disappoints, even when flying through a tunnel. Not to mention that everytime my neighbor starts up his QX35 i think someone is trying to steal my car... my Z should not sound like an SUV!
Flywheel&Clutch
Eventually i will have to get a new clutch disk. Im not especially hard on my car but zipping in and out of traffic here in LA will wear more that the driver out. So when that happens im thinking a light weight flywheel would be a nice upgrade. However, i dont want this "chatter" i keep hearing about. Any extra cabin noise is a deal breaker for me. I just want the rev'z to build faster. Not often but sometimes ill be in traffic and pull out of a slower lane and mash the gas and the car just does not accelerate fast enough for me.
...this could also be a problem of weight tho.
Wheels
What are the lightest wheels available for the Z? I have stock 18s now. A 19 or 20 would look nicer but im more concerned about saving lbs

unnecessarily long blog version:
Ive had my 05' 350ZR for about 8 months now. Ive had a bit of buyer's remorse. I was looking for a Porsche Boxster but the repair bills and age of the cars turned me off. Then i fell in love with the Honda s2000 and passed on a pair of cars due to budget. When the money came those cars had gone. Leaving me with nothing but poor hack job cars at premium prices. So it came down to the point where my daily driver bit the dust and i had to buy a car of some type right away and thats when i found the ZR.
So i drove it, i love the low end grunt of the car. Really a s2000 is no match for it, but you how things are when you had your hart set on it. Anyway the rest of the remorse comes from the fact that i knew the Z seats where uncomfortable when i test drove the car. I let someone convince me that i would get use to it and they would feel fine. 8 Months no such luck, i now use my grandmother's throw pillows in the car to fix the pain in my **** (that sounds like a joke but im so serious lol). And then 3 months after owning the car, the cloth top rips. Warranty wont cover it. Just a real downer. So after struggling with wanting to sell the car and having some other issues that turned out to be not a big deal... someone said something to me that rang true. "You just dont like the car and are now looking for any reason to hate it, so you can sell it". Ha, very true. However, truth is, it may not be the best car ive ever driven, but its the best car ive ever owned. Its also the fastest and the best handling and its a drop top... even tho technically i cant drop the top right now without further damage.
So ive spent the day watching videos on youtube trying to re-fall in love with the Z. Trying to remember why i smiled so hard when i first took delivery of my ZR. Trying to recall that time i sold cars for Nissan and the 350z had just come out and i snuck one off the lot for a drive. Remember that when i took the car through that long sweeper near the dealership and thought "man this car corners pretty flat and smooth at 45mph" only to look down and see that i was actually doing 90mph. Ahhh, yeah, you know. The love. I figure some mods will help me further take ownership of the car.

Well syner already did an excellent job of expressing how i really feel. (shout out syner!) but really any performance increase will lead to more noise... duh. JWT clutch and fly. fix the top. borla exhaust is quiet and deeper and add in some test pipes and you'll be set until a new car is calling.
I find it interesting you created a thread asking how not to be seen as less than intelligent & then post a thread that goes against almost everything posted in your how do I not look like an azz thread.
