Default built long block and turbo vs other routes

My 03 just hit 97k I want more power. Ive been looking at various sites built long blocks for the purpose of turboing it. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with these blocks or if there is any better options price wise I'm not opposed to an Ls swap just trying to explore my options.

My LS3 swap is at just over $12500 right now. It could be done for cheaper but I picked up a EROD crate motor which was most of the cost.

I am doing all the work myself. You could offset shop costs by going with a junkyard 6.0 or 5.7L engine and transmission.

BP single turbo kit on stock block. Then save for built motor.

That's the way I would have gone if that kit was available 5 years ago

Built Block+ Greddy twins + haltech etc etc + done 'professionally',= around twice your budget

You guys think the stock block will hold up with 97k on it? The only reason I ask is cause I don't want to break it like 2k after install an everything.

way too many variables to even give odds that it will last.

a LOT of built motors have blown. Again...mechanical reasons, tunes, etc etc

There is a million ways to put an engine together but only one correct way.

No one has blown a motor at under 5 psi from my research, so keep it under 5 psi

So I think I've decided on the concept z ipp stage 1 long block it's only 4800 and it's everything I need but even with a single turbo and the work idk how you guys are coming up with 15 plus unless I'm missing something here

Got a buddy running 10psi in his G on stock block and internals hitting 490hp. Not recommended, and he's only expecting the block to last about a year or so.

I wouldn't do it unless it's your 2nd vehicle. ToO much of a risk w that mileage.

Depending on how much power you want, I'd go Vortech. Wouldn't even need a built motor, though 97k is a lot when it comes to forced induction but superchargers are easier on the motor than turbos are. Just my 2 cents.

IMHO get the notion that it's to easy to build and or replace the motor if shizz hits the fan out of your mind. Unless your a mechanic it's like a ugly divorce once it gets to that point. Keep the torque low and tune conservative and no mis shifts etc... and the motor should last as long as it is cared for. Now rag on it with reckless abandonment and it might not even make it down a drag strip in one piece.
