2003 enthusiast 6 speed. Just put in a motor from a 04 convertible, bought the car blown up so never drove it before to know if it had this problem or not. It does everything great, starts good, drives good, idles good, but when I rev to 5k rpms the tach gets squirrely and the car starts jerking and exhaust popping. It will do this both driving and sitting in neutral. Also the first time I do it while driving the vdc and slip lights both come on and stay on until I turn the car off and restart it, then they will be off till I bring the car to 5k again. Is this typical for a cam or flywheel sensor??

 

Do you know if you used your 03 ECU or the 04's ECU?

 

I didn't change the ecu, so Its the 03 I presume
