Newer Direct Injection V6s From Other Manufactuerers vs VQ35HR and VQ37VHR
I bought an Auto 2008 350Z Enthusiast here in Vegas about 8 months ago, since then I have had many run-ins with vehicles that have newer direct injection 6 cylinders equipped including, the Mustang 3.7l,Camaro 3.6l,Challenger 3..6l (305hp version), 2013+Hyundai Genesis 3.8l(348hp I'm skeptical),VW CC 3.6,Lexus IS350 F Sport(spindle grille design) etc. and left them behind with not much of a problem on the street(not endorsing street racing). I know some of these cars are quite a bit heavier but our cars have the smaller displacement without the use of direct injection getting the same or better numbers. So I wanted to know your opinions on these newer generation "High Feature" 300+hp direct injection 6 cylinders and how they stack up against the VQ35HR and VQ37VHR not talking about MPGs either.Thanks.
Thx for the replies guys.I didn't expect this post to get many replies this is my first post and my car before this was a 190 crank hp 2.8l BMW e46 coupe (E46 fanatics.com) so excuse my excitement. If anyone else has had experience with direct injection 6 cylinders please post I would love to read about it.
Yes, I realize direct injection is the future and cant wait until Nissan goes direct injection with their N/A v6 engines.I first found out myself what direct injection was when the Mazdaspeed 6 first came out with their turbo direct injected 2.3l.I do think that American and Korean companies have bench-marked the VQ engine with their similar design especially the early 1st gen 09-12 Lambda RS3800 (300hp crank) v6 from Hyundai.
