03 burning oil?
Ok im looking at an 03 350z for sale. The owner said that the car had the engine replaced under warranty due to the engine burning oil.
I always thought that it was the 06 model that had the oil consumption issues. He told me that a few people in his z group had 05s and they too had oil issues.
Is this true? Were there 03 and 05s with oil consumption issues?

Mostly 05/06 Rev Up cars had the problem , but all VQ's to include the mighty HR can have an issue. The DE is commonly known to burn 1/2 to 1 quart per oil change, my 03 did this from when I got it, my 05 never burned a drop. My friends cars are all different.

I own a pre-order '03 track model and haven't burned any oil since new. My car has been to numerous tracks around the country and driven HARD. The last few years, I can't even say it gets a lot of maintenance, as I usually change the oil (M1 0-40W) and filter once a year and clean/wash the K&N air filter at the same time.

If you drive a lot its an issue.......and not a very big one honestly that means you just have to change your oil more frequently.
