Default Skyline R33 LSD

Hey Guys,

I tried searching for this but I didn't get any results.

Will a Nissan Skyline R33 LSD fit my 350z 06 Track?

On the other hand I have a noob question.... After spending several hours reading post after post on LSDs I have the doubt if my car has a OEM LSD or not.

Some people say that only the base model was not equipped with a LSD and that if my car has Cruise control it means that is not a base model hence it should have a LSD but my car only locks one wheel when I try to do a launch, burnout or donuts hence no LSD appears to be there.

please help...

The oem viscous LSD can be broken and it sounds like yours is. No idea on the skyline Diff and why would you not just get an LSD that fits the car? You can also look up your trim on Nissan recall site using your VIN.

VLSD in perfect condition is 30% lock , perfect for the average drive to Walmart. It also wears out fast., still good for driving to Walmart.

Other than not locking the other wheel it works like a charm. I dont think its broken.

On the VIN subject. I cant check it since my car is JDM.

Not locking the wheels to any degree would indicate its broken. If the viscus coupling wares out the stock VLSD becomes an open differential so it would still function just no longer as a VLSD. This would be more likely that someone swapping your car to an open differential.

Ahh, I see.

Is this fixable? If so, how should I proceed?

Well you had the right ideal with your first post, get a new one . You cannot replace the viscus fluid its a sealed unit. The quaife LSD is gear based and often recommended for street driven cars.

??? The fluid is replaced every oil change(if you choose to) and the diff itself can be stripped as shown in the manual, not hard by the looks of it. If the parts are worn just find a component number and replace. But to go to all that hassle you would be better swapping to a clutch or helical diff anyway.

The viscus coupling is sealed and separate from the gear oil used to lubricate.
