Default JWT cams on revup question

I have a 2006 revup and I am thinking about doing JWT s7 cams. Will the cams still make power if I don't add headers? I don't ever plan on adding headers. I live in California and don't want to deal with header and smog issues.

Here are my mods ...
* motordyne mrev2
* motordyne plenum spacer
* ams pullies
* nismo exhaust
* motordyne XYZ y pipe.

Now before you tell me it's not worth the money ... I have a oil leak. The leak is coming from the rear timing chain cover. I am fixing the oil leak and basically it will not cost me any extra labor to add the cams since repairing the oil leak will basically have it all apart. Yeah the cams and springs are not cheap but if it's all apart ... And I can add some power ... Now is the time to do it!

You will have some gains, just not the full gains without the full supporting mods

How much power will the added expense make it worth it for you?

What cats are you running?

I am running stock cats and don't plan on ever changing the cats. Also running stock headers and don't ever plan on changing those. I am in California and don't want to change back and forth.

I am pulling it all apart to fix the oil leak so I will be there .... Adding the cams will only cost me cam cost and springs. $1000 so 10hp gain .. 100 per hp lol

Yeah ... Already getting a Dyno tune since I have added motordyne mrev2, motordyne spacer, motordyne XYZ y pipe, nismo s tune mid pipe, nismo s tune muffler and a JWT Pop charger in the past 60 days. I get most won't do cams ... I guess my real question is will I get 10 or more rear wheel HP A GAINS with the JWT s7 cams and my setup?

Maybe call JWT and ask for their advice.

Are you able to dyno now before you install the cams?

No I'm just gonna dyno tune it once with all the mods installed. With stock cats and stock exhaust manifolds I realize I won't get the most I can , but don't wanna deal with california smog crap.

Why ask a question if your going to get offended. I think cams on stock headers and cams is a waste of time. I can read just fine.

No offense taken ... But some facts on why you feel it's a waste of time would be much more appropriate.

Why not do LTH paired with the cat for your XYZ ypipe? You will still be smog compliant and you will gain more HP.

Are there headers that are California smog compliant?

I have the s7 cams in my car. If you do them you will the full version of uprev do tune the cams. I suspect 20-30whp gain with a aggressive tune. With headers. Or use the hr exhaust manifolds.

Great to hear ..... So the HR exhaust manifolds flow better than the revup ones? Are they a direct bolt on?

If your gonna do cams. I would ditch the mrev2 and switch back to the revup Lower. It's better anyway and will help the engine breath better in the higher rpm where the cams will be working.
