You have to drop the pan to see it because it's connected to the valve body. It's here, circled in red:

Do you have to remove the valve body to take the sensor out?

I would like to know the same thing. I am currently in the process of changing mine and can't see any other way to do it. I'm not sure about taking the valve body out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
