Default Possible wrong ECM/ECU?

Hey guys, I have asked about tuning on the forums before and it prompted me to look into nissan tuning even further. I discovered there are some open source options for tuning, and came across something interesting. When I found out that datascan 2 has a function that allows you to dump the stock rom off of the ECU, I decided to copy the rom off of my ECU with that and see if my table options changed from the dumped rom that I got from nisprog. When I did that, I noticed that the rom dumped from datascan said that my vehicle is an 06 350z, but the car is definitely an 04. I know that some work had been done to the car before by a previous owner, but I don't think that the motor was swapped out. The only issues I've encountered with it was stalling at idle and whenever I put the car into neutral. But that problem has been fixed for the most part. Could it be possible that someone swapped out the ECU and somehow got it to work? Should I be concerned about the ECU difference?

There are companies out there that if you give them your VIN they can flash an ECU that will work fine for a couple hundred dollars.

Interesting. But wouldn't that also flash all the other info and it would read as an 04 and not as an 06? I understand they could sort of tune that ECU to that vehicle specifically, but i thought flashing an ECU to work like stock would also change all the other info according to vin? I also noticed my ECU part numbers match up with what could possibly ship with the car too and that ECU manufacturing date is earlier than 06. And wouldn't 06 mark the start of the HR motor?
