what Mic said... how much money do you realistically want to throw at this?

Are you dead set on twin turbos? Would you consider a mid-mount or a front mount turbo? Possibly a rear-mount turbo? Twins are expensive, difficult (meaning expensive) to install, a little bit more money to maintain, and if (and when) something goes wrong they are extremely time consuming and expensive to perform maintenance on.

500 to 600hp (on a DE motor) will run you about $10k to $15k when it's all said and done - do you want to spend this much?

$3k upgraded engine internals/gaskets/fluids/misc engine stuff
$1k for machine shop expenses
$1k flywheel / clutch package
$3k to $10k for a twin turbo setup
$1k for software/tuning platform
$1k dyno tuning
$1k exhaust setup

Don't know if you can get away with the $3k for the engine and misc stuff. Maybe you need a little bit more, for stuff like fuel pump, injectors, fuel rail, wideband sensors. Other then that seems about right give or take.

I totally forgot fuel!! Add $1k to $2k depending on what you want!

For that power it is likely cheaper to start with an HR, don't touch the motor and go with the BP kit. On pump E you should have no issues hitting those power numbers. I would still expect to be around the 10k area. There are some things that bealljk listed that can be had for cheaper, like the tuning and exhaust, and this would eliminate the 4k in motor build. You should add some cooling mods though, and likely a diff build.

All very good points … I would say the flip side of seeking an HR is that they will cost more on the front end and if/when things go wrong they will be harder / more expensive to fix. But definitely a viable-route to at least explore.
