Default Sudden oil dump, all of it

Ok, This have happened to me before twice. First time was an oil filter that I never bought before (f*** STP, am a Fram fan) Second time it was a bad oil bolt. Both times the oil light never came on.
This time it did, drove 2 miles after an oil change and the light came on so immediately pulled over. Was late at night and couldn't see anything. Went back the next morning and both the filter and oil bolt were intact. Also noticed a lot of oil spray on mostly the front middle part of the engine bay. It even got on the serpentine belts. Put 4.5 liters of oil and changed before 2800 miles. Never had a serious oil consumption issue.

Car has 183,000 miles/ 294501 km

Fram is the last filter I would ever buy, stp is a much higher quality unit. Maybe the oil cooler o ring is going bad, it’s common with age, could also be operator error as I’ve never had this happen

Update: had a mobile mechanic show up, essentially the rubber ring from the oil filter glued on. Add new oil filter and it will hit the fan. Z is fine and well, am nursing my bruised ego.

Bottom line- always make certain the oil filter mounting flange is clear and clean before screwing a new filter on.
