Hey, I'm trying to get my pumpkin back in the car after some upgrades. It seem the diff cover isn't sitting flush with the solid diff. In the picture you can see the base of the stud is outside of the solid diff.
I have the z1 diff cover and gktech solid bushings.
Anyone know what I should do?
The only thing to do is take it out and check the installation of the bushing. I still have a stock bushing there but that face of the actual cover itself is butted against the bushing and the bushing outer diameter is flush with the lip.
The GKtech install video shows that the solid bushing is not flush with the lip but the install tool keeps the bushing what looks like about 1/8 inch sub flush. In your pic the top of the diff face looks to have a smaller gap than the bottom, ensure that its not sitting on an angle and the lip on stud is preventing it from going all the way in.
Yeah, their video is actually incomplete. The complete instructions is to turn the cup over and use that to pull it the rest of the way. You only know that by asking them directly lol.
I'm gonna take it apart , inspect the surfaces and try again, probably the lip is getting caught somewhere.
In case anyone find this thread and has the same problem, this is how I resolved it.
I took it to a mechanic, he just loosened and tightened(past the torque spec) the nut a few times and it pulled it the rest if the way. He said the resistance from the diff adds to the torque even though you aren't really torquing it down. Maybe if I had a transmission jack to hold it flat and pushed it through the hole perfectly, it would have been easier, but the stud is usually holding a significant amount of weight holding the diff up until you torque it. He also said the cover was making contact elsewhere, do there wouldn't be too much of an issue driving it l; I was babying it, not putting too much power down.
I am glad I found your post and I will surely share your post with my brother who is also facing the same issue. I am sure he will be so happy. I would like to share the https://casinosanalyzer.com/online-casinos/ezeewallet website with you for helping my friend by giving suggestions. On that website link, you can find online real money gaming site links through which you can earn money.
