Default CD009 Reverse Issue

I have A Lexus SC300 (2jzgte swapped) with a CD009 (newer from 370Z) transmission (Colins 2jz swap kit) with a Serial Nine CD999 shifter. I have recently ran into an issue where, when I put the tranny into reverse, as soon as I start to let out the clutch and load up the drive trane , the shifter pops out into neutral. Then if I try to hold the shifter into the reverse position with a lot of force and attempt to let out the clutch, it attempts to grab the reverse gear before popping out and grinding as I'm forcing it into reverse (feels like something is preventing it from going fully into the reverse gear). I have never had any issues with reverse until now (not gradual). I first adjusted the reverse lockout plate on the shifter (pushed it to the right and down as much as possible), with no change. I then removed the reverse lockout plate from the shifter completely (removing any designed-in reverse lockout) and tried again but had the same issue. After inspecting the CD999 shifter, all of its components seems fine (not bent or broken). At this point I cannot move the car in reverse at all, the best I can get with some force is gear grinding. I haven't been able to find much help after researching online.

Any ideas?

Did you figure out a solution? I have this issue on an IS300 using the same kit and shifter
