Hey was looking to get some help on my 2002 350z it currently has 100,000km. A few months ago From time to time I would have trouble starting the car, it would crank but not start and sometimes when it would start you would hear a mini growl from the car and then instantly die. I replaced the crankshaft sensor and it got better for a few months but recently the same issue has been occurring where the car would start but then instantly die and then take a few tries to start again. Anybody have any clue what the problem could be.
I’m thinking it’s the fuel pump just need a second opinion
Note: I replaced the battery March this year

My 2003 was doing the exact same thing you describe. I took it in a couple weeks ago as it left me stranded at a stoplight but luckily fired back up. Anyway the bank 1 camshaft sensor was shot and i elected to replace bank 1 and 2 camshaft sensors and the crankshaft sensor as well and it runs better than ever. If you need to replace any one of these 3, then you should replace all 3 and with OEM/Hitachi sensors nothing else.

 

im having the same issue i have seen you on a couple other post so i wanted to ask im having a problem starting my 04 convert Z it cranks but wont start replaced my cams it started right up then right after driving i turned it off tried to start again and it wouldnt start i have codes for 02 and my evaps clogged just bought another putting it in soon what do you think the problem could be

 

Did you only replace the cam sensors? If so, try replacing the crankshaft position sensor as well. The O2 and evap may cause it run a little poorly but i wouldnt think it would prevent from starting. Try the CPS.
