driveshaft and rearend q's?
Ok,
The other day I got my first peek under a new Z (finally got one in for service and it was up while I was waling through the shop).
So my first big question is this, does anyone know what the driveshaft is made of? It has a coating on it similar to what you might find on a carbon fiber shaft. However I can't tell if it' just an anti corrosive coating covering a steel shaft. Anybody know what it's made of? If it's steel changing it over to aluminum or carbon fiber could be worth a few ponies at the wheels.
Second question involves ring and pinion. Are there any lower (numerically higher) gear rations available Nismo or aftermarket for the Z? This is always a common hop up on Mustangs and Camaros, I've always done it in the past, obvious bennefits to getting the revs up a little faster. The car I think comes with a 3.53 or 3.54 ratio stock. was thinking something in the 3.70-4.11 range could give you a big accelleartion bennefit without sacrificing too much top end.
