Angry Added 1.20 in 1/4 after Borla Install

Finally got my Borla Headers installed and to my dismay when I went to the trackI went from a 13.9 to a 14.1. Anyone know what the heck that's about? I'm trying to convince myself that it was temperature difference. 13.9 was run in December time frame.

13.9 was run stock

14.1 with AEM intake and Borla Headers installed.

try resetting the ecu and let the computer adjust to the mods. also you have to factor in driver error and track conditions. dont fret.

Last time I checked 13.9 woas only 0.20 different than 14.1. I agree with ***** though, the same setup on a different day could easily be that different. A full tank versus an empty tank could make a difference close to that.

lol...you're focusing on the wrong part of the story! Leave my math out of this!

Had a 2.0 60 ft. when I ran the 13.9 and a 2.1 and 2.2 the other day.

100.4 MPH with the 13.9 and 99 MPH the other day.

I haven't heard anything about this car's ECU so just to double check, unplugging the battery for about 30 minutes will reset the ECU right?

I'm not completely ruling out driver error. The only reason I'm scepticle about it though is cause I have been racing for a while now and am always very consistant. Also I ran about 5 or 6 times that night and that was the best it would do. But no one's perfect right, I could have been having an off night, and there is a significant difference in air temperature in December and April.

I think the people above are asking the right questions. However, the Borla headers are not know for real power. They are not equal length and many have questioned the design. On a forced induction car, it would not matter than much. However, on NA cars, many have not been thrilled. This is why so many people ate up the Nismo and Crawford headers. The design was better overall. Personally, I am pretty happy with my Crawfords, but I have only had them on since this weekend. I am dynoing on Thursday though (same dyno as before and temp should be similar). Good luck.

Yes, these definately are all questions that I've asked myself a couple times since that night at the track. There isn't too much wear on the wheels, however, since you mention it...I let 5lbs of pressure out of the rear wheels this time because I was getting a lot of wheel hop before. So I was running with 30lbs in the rear. I thought that was supposed to be a good thing though. You think?

ever run with just the aem? You should of before the borla install.

anyway, for now:

Put your stock intake back on and run. See if your time increases/decreased.
AEM could be causing power loss (has in the past). This way you can at least eliminate one factor.

goto or search for www.technosquare.com and follow their ECU resetting instructions. The ECU doesnt always get reset by taking of the negative terminal from what i hear. The temp outside could be to blaim, as could the tire pressure. All of these can make a difference. Go out again and see how you do. I would recommend strongly resetting the ECU however. And btw that chick does have huge feet.

Yeah, will do. Is that the right technosquare? Couldn't find anything about any cars on that site.

So umm...what do they say about CHICKS with big feet?

They wear big socks too?

I wouldnt doubt you lost power. I had exhuast on my white car, got tired of the fart sound so I went back to stock. The car feels quicker now that I went back to stock.

An engineer at my old mans work, said that vehicles now are being exhuast pressured tuned (or whatever cant remember) so by changing the flow rate you could actually loose power based on how the car is tuned. Also in reality the stock muffler is already high flow, so by changing "mufflers" you are just changing the sound or tone of the vehicle and not actually power.

Not to mention the chicks like the stock sound a million times better than the fart sound.

I think you guys are missing the obvious.

DYNO BEFORE and AFTER, the only way you will see a true result!

You will NEVER duplicate a run at a track unless you are a pro.... so may vairables change from week to week in track conditions. I could see if you made the runs the same day, but if the temp changed or humidity, your car will NOT perform the same every day............You even stated your 60' was slower, thats a driver "error"
