Thumbs up Crawford v5 installed

Bolted this on yesterday with my buddies. Talk about simple...the whole process with strut bar took under an hour. Immediate gains were felt. I love this thing! Has a very mild sound to it...you'd probably notice it if you didn't have any other mods, otherwise it's pretty hard to hear it. Seems to compliment the JWT very nicely.

The guys at Crawford are fantastic...kept me updated all along the way, even though they're back ordered on their plenum...took 2 1/2 weeks to get it...not bad.

I was wavering between kinetix and crawford....I'm glad I chose this path, and no worries about cracking! It looks super bad *** in the engine compartment too...I was so excited, I forgot to put on my ground wires (more for show)...something else to do today I guess!

Nope, just painted black. Doug said they have so many orders that they're about 2 weeks out. They took my order but didn't bill me till they shipped it...very cool. Also didn't charge the core charge...just told me to send the original back asap. I'll put some pics up as soon as I load them on to the computer.

NICE! - i should probably just go ahead and order - by the time they ship, i'll have the $$ together.... and black definitely is the color in my opinion... are you planning on modifying the plastic engine cover, or just leavin it off?

I left the plastic piece off...looks cool with the strut bar. You can modify it with a dremmel tool to fit...seen some people do it.

The crawford v5 plenum is a stock plenum that has been modified...therefor they need stock plenums to continue to make their product. A *core* charge is what they charge you if you decide to keep your stock plenum. You simply send them your stock plenum as soon as you get a chance to put your new one on. The same process is common with throttle bodies.

Some people said they wanted to keep their stock plenums, and went with kinetix. There's no real point to keeping the stock plenum with a crawford, since you are essentially putting on a Z plenum..just a modified one. The price is the same when it's all said and done.

Two reasons:

1) The don't offer an "orange" color...just black, white, yellow, red, green, chrome (extra) and grey. There might be a blue as well..can't remember.

2) The black is a gloss black...it actually looks pretty awesome when you open the hood.

Pics to follow, as soon as cardomain gets back online.....mine looks sick with the zextreme orange ground wire kit.

Here's the blue V5. The color is darker than the picture shows. It matches the DB well.

Nope. The plenum sits too high for the stock strut bar. Some people have modified their engine covers to fit, but why would you want to hide the engine. Just my opinion.

Yeah, kiss the stock strut goodbye...I think that's one negative...but overall you gotta love it...and no worries about boost down the road.
