Default Jerkiness on low rpm accel/decel

Became proud owner of 2004 6MT in liq alum 4 weeks ago. Since the beginning the car is really sensitive when backing off the accelerator and then trying to reaccelerate in the same gear. The problem is particularly noticable < 3000rpm and makes driving in stop-go traffic queues a pain (constantly need to dip the clutch to avoid the jerkiness). It will do it in any gear but is most annoying at low speeds (1st and 2nd cogs). Thing is, I can't remember the original test drive vehicle doing this (was a 2003 model). Has anyone experienced a similar problem and found a cure? I have not contacted my dealer about it (yet).

Default Re: Jerkiness on low rpm accel/decel

I think what you're experiencing is just the normal driveline lash of the car. Is this your first stick car in a while? On most manual cars I've driven you have to be really judicious about the throttle in 1st and 2nd gear...after that the car has enough momentum that it's not much of an issue. May be you just drove your test drive car really slowly and smoothly? Or alternative, maybe you drove it so fast you didn't ever back off the throttle. :-)
