Default Crawford V5 Installed But..........

installed the v5 yesterday (well, i had it done, actually)...

anyone else have the new version???


have you noticed the inside wles?? (seem a bit rough)... okay, seem alot rough....

installed anyway..... (should it have been sanded down?? i know we want tumble to ocurr, but???)

That is the smoothest they have ever been inside.

okay.... i figured that Craw wouldnt send it out unless it was okay (hence why i installed immeiately anyway)

just glad to hear its within the design limits.......

A rough surface is ideal for flow in a confined space over strange contours like that. Because there is so much surface area with wierd curves of the wall compared to volume inside the plenum, a smooth surface would have places where the flow separates from the sides and just swirls around. The rough surface will make the air flow faster at the front end too, where everyone always complains about the drop-off.

For example, that plenum doesn't look much rougher than an intake port once it's been ported for better flow.

funny thing is that i hear of kinetix owners sanding theirs to a mirror finish (albeit a plastic mirror..)...

guess thats not gonna help, or make any positive difference..

wow...i havent been following the plenum threads much. This new version looks MUCH better than the older ones that had that big fat weld on the bottom half of the plenum. Nice work! This one looks show quality.
