I know this is a hackneyed question but how much horsepower would one gain to the wheels with the tilton flywheel? Or should i rather say " How much less horsepower is lost though the drivetrain?" With 30 pounds off the crank. I hear one frees up almost one horsepower for every pound of rotational weight off the crank? is this true? does that mean the tilto flywheel and clutch gices a 350 z around 260-270 hp to the wheels? Also how much would be a prospective price for the future street set up? if it is Heavier and softer and not as strong but cheaper but inturn does not reciprocate the same rush i'll just get the current rally clutch kit because i can stand the revs dropping fast as i start.

Also, i read online on the performance nissan website that the rally clutch is ok for street use if owner is awair of excessive slipping. Is this clutch designed to slip like rally cars? if so wghat would the launches be like would we have to fether as mutch or would the clutch do that, or does it engage so fast that none of it matters? If the engagement point has a very small range on the pedal i don't mind slip but i don't want a whide slippy clutch? But i am assuming that it is nothing like i am anticipating. I am just scared because i just got a proficient launch out of the car after a year of sporadic attemps and practice. But as long as it does not slip like the website says i am buying the tilton. Thanks for replying to my previous posts.

You actually want clutch slippage to make it easier to launch. A really good pressure plate and clutch would immediately grab the flywheel with no slippage and it would be very hard to launch (if you arent used to it). The tilton setup on the performance nissan cars offer a small amount of slippage but it is definitely closer to a race clutch than street. Eventually you will get used to it becuase it is definitely easier to drive than a racecar. If it took you a year to launch right, then you might want to think again about buying this flywheel. Jeff put it best when he said it is almost like learning to drive stick again. There is a lot of concentration involved when you first drive with this setup. Though jeff said that he now doesnt even have to think about launching anymore and he can tackle hills no problem.

Sure.. easy to do. The latest round of mods... Nismo seats, Nismo seat belts and nismo gauge cluster alone was $3800. Add to that all the interior carbon fiber stuff, brakes, rims, tires, stereo/nav, monthly cam and clutch changes, testing stuff for vendors etc... This car has been one hell of an expense. BUT..worth it all! I love this car even though I'm getting ready to sell her.

Still trying to work out a deal on a 2002 R34 Skyline. If it falls through then I'll just keep building on the Z. All depends if the Dealer will give me a "dealer plate" or not. If not, it will be impossible without an OBDII system to smog/register in Calif.

Jeff why would you prefer the Nismos to the JWT cams please explain? Can you describe the power band with both cams compared to stock? Thanks, I think your the only person that has had both of these in his car.

The Nismo...IN MY CASE... seemed to have more power in the low to mid range (off idle to about 5500) The JWT's don't SEEM to have the same pull down low... but once you hit about 3000rpm the car goes nuts all the way to reline.. which in my car is much higher than most. Now this may not apply to all cars. My car is modded, changed and modded again. Also T/S has spent the better part of a day tuning my ECU. So don't take what I say as the way it will be with your cars. This is just the outcome on mine. If my Skyline deal falls through I will wait for JWT's TT set up and try that next. Because of the shorter duration (valve overlap) of the JWT's they are a much better choice (IMHO) than the Nismos. Where on a N/A car I would run the Nismo's over the JWT's. Again... this is my car we are talking about.

Thanks Jeff for the insight into the JWT vs NISMO.

My next question is, wouldn't too much overlap be bad for F/I? Since you have more blow through? Is that why you recommend JWT for F/I, as it has less overlap?

Under standard boost conditions (5/6psi) you wouldn't have any problems.... but the way you guys on this Forum are always looking for more power then yes, less overlap would be better. I'm sure it's just a matter of time until JWT comes out with a specific cam for F/I set ups.
