I can tell you right now you did not weld your clutch to your flywheel(though this is possible). If the pedal was stuck to the ground, it means your car was in neutral; in that the clutch was not touching the flywheel. And for the guy who did a 5k drop in his brand new JWT; you do know you are supposed to break in a flywheel and clutch dont you? My guess is that you fried your throwout bearing (or clutch release bearing) due to heat. I don't know why it started working again, but once a bearing goes bad, you have to replace it. I suggest all of you who had this problem get your cars checked out. Some of you might get lucky, but if your clutch sticks really badly, there is something wrong. This is definitely not one of those things that fixes itself.

Happened to me too on my g35 sedan 6mt. Was hauling *** and cut a tight U-turn. When about to start doing the U-turn, I pushed in the clutch in and left off the gas. About half way through the u-turn I started slowing letting the clutch out and start mashing on the gas pedal. As I slid around and completed the u-turn, I let the clutch out the remaining way to start driving normally again, but the clutch stuck for a few seconds until I pumped it a couple of times. Good thing it popped back out so the cops couldn't catch me. oh, and i am much, much older than 17.

Also, happened once before on a hard launch. 150-shot of nitrous on a stock clutch didn't help the in this situation.

I'm with you on this one, maybe I'm mature beyond my 26 yrs (scary) . At $30k+ the Z is far from cheap and it took me a while to be able to afford a car like it because I refuse to lease. I'd rather spend my money improving my car than use it to fix up something I broke due to poor judgement.
Then again I'd love to hear a car being launched at 5k rpm, as long as it's not mine.

One of the 2 times this happened to me was in reverse and I don't even come close to what would be concidered beating my Z. It happened twice, maybe a defect maybe not, with all the tranny issues it makes you think.

Even though I hate to admit it, I'm not even close to being 17. I still prefer the quote 'Drive it like you stole it' I border on the dull side myself but it's ONLY a car. A car that I like a lot but still only a car.
