clutch stuck to ground
I can tell you right now you did not weld your clutch to your flywheel(though this is possible). If the pedal was stuck to the ground, it means your car was in neutral; in that the clutch was not touching the flywheel. And for the guy who did a 5k drop in his brand new JWT; you do know you are supposed to break in a flywheel and clutch dont you? My guess is that you fried your throwout bearing (or clutch release bearing) due to heat. I don't know why it started working again, but once a bearing goes bad, you have to replace it. I suggest all of you who had this problem get your cars checked out. Some of you might get lucky, but if your clutch sticks really badly, there is something wrong. This is definitely not one of those things that fixes itself.
Happened to me too on my g35 sedan 6mt. Was hauling *** and cut a tight U-turn. When about to start doing the U-turn, I pushed in the clutch in and left off the gas. About half way through the u-turn I started slowing letting the clutch out and start mashing on the gas pedal. As I slid around and completed the u-turn, I let the clutch out the remaining way to start driving normally again, but the clutch stuck for a few seconds until I pumped it a couple of times. Good thing it popped back out so the cops couldn't catch me. oh, and i am much, much older than 17.
Also, happened once before on a hard launch. 150-shot of nitrous on a stock clutch didn't help the in this situation.

right after i got it means about 2000 miles later. im not ignorant man. it just did it for a half a second. oh and its a 30000 car that we bought for performance, if i cant beat on it i would get rid of it as fast as i can.
my clutch has been feeling notchy for days now...and i hear a rattle noise near my feet when driving...something is wrong ..i took it to the dealership and they drove it around....said bring it in first thing in the morning...hmmmm

I know this stuff happens all the time, but I cannot believe how many Z owners just beat the sh*t out of their $30,000 cars. Driving fast is one thing - welding your clutch to the flywheel or whatever may have happened - But I just realized something - are all of you doing this 17 years old? I know - I'm a tightass. I still say it's a bit mind boggling to use a new Z as a beater. But, I'm a dull boy I suppose. Now...flame away...
And I'm the only one here who thinks this way?

Then again I'd love to hear a car being launched at 5k rpm, as long as it's not mine.

Even though I hate to admit it, I'm not even close to being 17. I still prefer the quote 'Drive it like you stole it' I border on the dull side myself but it's ONLY a car. A car that I like a lot but still only a car.
well i took my car to the dealer...they are odering a new clutch for me...they said mine is in bad shape...i can drive my car..but the clutch pedal in the inside is rattling and its notchy when i push it in...the conclusion was to replace it...they even had the nerve to ask me this "is this your first manual" I was shocked when they said that..lol ive been driving manuals for 12 years...and i looked back at him and said its Nissans shitty *** clutch.
