Default Changing oil

I was thinking about doing the oil change myself this time cause I wanted to try some redline or mobil one but anyways what all do I need for the oil change? Is there a "HOW TO" post on this somewhere? I tried doing a search but couldn't find it. Thanks

Chip

Hmm, I dont have that oil filter wrench. If I took it to the NIssan dealership like I usually do and brought different oil, do you think they would be ok with that and would the price be less?

Most dealers will use customer-supplied oil - charge you for labor and filter. I use Mobil 1 and have had the Z changed at Nissan delaership and Tahoe changed at Chevy - no problems.

There was only one box of that stuff left in the store, i'll have to hurry out there in the morning. This might be a stupid question but synthetic oil wont void the warrany right?

You can get a oil filter wrench anywhere. I got a plastic end cap filter wrench at autobarn for like 5 bux. Forgot what model number it is, but you can do what I did. Open a Mobile 1-108 oil filter and find a filter wrench cap that fits it. The Mobile 1-108 is exactly the same size as the OEM filter. Took off the stock oil filter easily (some had problems and said it was on tight)

On synthetic oil, you should use if your mileage is between 5k-10k. On the warranty issue, not sure. Don't think anyone can tell the difference between synthetic and natural.

Only between 5K and 10K? or you mean once you reach that range. I am just over 12K now and I already went a bought some 10W-30 Royal Purple, $75 for a box of 12 quarts. So I hope I can still use it!

Got the car back today and as soon as I started driving off, the car just felt much smoother. Shifting feels smoother and the engine just sounds smoother haha. Seems like some good oil so far
