Default Oil Change (Plastic Cover screw removal)

Okay, I am letting my oil drain and had a quick question for you folks.

Is there a 10MM rechargeable screwdriver that fits 10MM bolts.

It gets tiring taking off over 15 bolts by the rachet way just to change the oil.

Also my replacement washer I got from the dealer is thicker than the OEM one. Should I go ahead and use the one the dealer sold me?

I can post pics of the washers if you like. I am sure if it doesn't leak than I am okay.

Thanks for any help.

those bolts should have the philips slot in them. I just use a cordless screwdriver with a philips head and it works great.

Yeah I guess your right, but some of my bolts don't have the phillips holes. Like 1 or two of them. I will give it a try the next time I change my oil. Thanks.

Well my plug didn't leak so far, so I guess I am okay.

The worst part about those screws is not taking them off its putting them back on. They do wonders on your elbows,

I use a cheap rechargeable drill for the plastic cover screw (Philips) and the rest I have to ratchet. A bit of a PIA, but I only have so much money to buy tools at this point in my life....

The washer collapses when applied, so they look thick and awkward compared to the one already on the plug...

Hey, were you the one that chipped one of the threads that affixed the oil filter to the car...?

You can buy adapters for like 2.00 or so that fit in a standard cordless screwdriver that allow you to use 1/4" drivce sockets.
