hm i want to hear some more info about the plenum and throttle body mod. I've been wanting to swap out the stock unit with a larger tb such as the q45 throttle body but I don't know if 1. it would fit on the stock plenum and 2. the maf would or wouldn't be affected.

i'm pretty sure that at least the F-ConV can (which is what this setup is running), seen it in person on a couple of Zs with the stock TB's, also HKS does sell the F-Con V for the 350z and i can not find any disclaimer saying one would need a different TB to use it..

Thanks!

They need a Crawford plenum, their goal would be closer.

I second that question. P.S.- webcarconnection- How's that 100 shot running you and what are you using to tune the car? I have nearly the same boltons as you do and I'm running quite lean.

ether - you got a leg up on me as you are in Japan, but having seen several 350Z's so far with the F Con, I have yet to see one using the stock TB....if you haev any info about cars using it, let me know, as I was considering this ecu myself before hearing about the drive by wire issue

I thought there was a guy in the F/I forum that just got his FconV-Pro to use on his Greddy Z and that HKS even had the harness made for the Z with stock TB. I wished I remember his name. P something. phunk I think it is.

i think Z1 is correct in that the F-con is not setup for drive by wire, but i think there is a way of still using the f-con in a "piggy back" type of approach. when i spoke with the HKS rep on the SC setup, he mentioned the use of the f-con to control the injectors and timing, did not mention anything about the TB. will ask some next time i run across somebody using the f-con on their personal Z

the FCON being used in the HKS SC kit is not the V Pro, it is the S or SZ. Those are piggy backs like the e-manage but are more powerful and can reduce IPW to lean out larger injectors without screwing up your MAF signal.

Neither FCON systems require the ability to control the fly by wire, because all the FCONs are intended to be used in conjunction with the factory ECU. The factory ECU can do the fly by wire all it wants, as long we have control of the injectors and coils. Piggy back style with the S or SZ, and standalone style with the V-Pro.
